Abstract | To design and build each piping system, the piping system is represented and managed in different document formats during the design stages. For instance, piping diagrams and 3D CAD data are in different formats to represent information about the same piping system. Although these formats vary with the requirements of each design stage, they represent the information about the same piping systems. In documents to which intelligent P&ID or CAD systems are applied, the information is linked to each other. However, in cases where they are not, the human engineer needs to understand and match the information between documents. In this study, a graph matching algorithm is proposed, which automatically connects the identified part between two graphs representing the information of the different drawings. Industrial engineering drawings such as piping diagrams and 3D CAD data are used to evaluate the proposed algorithm. The proposed algorithm is expected to be used for comparison and design pattern analysis between piping systems in the future. |
