Abstract | As the weight and size of the erected block and module of the offshore project are increased, new lifting plans by using floating cranes have been tried to enhance the production efficiency in the shipbuilding area. In this situation, crane lifting simulation is required to manage potential risk of lifting plan in advance. Therefore, we have developed dynamic analysis program, named SyMAP (SydLab’s Multiphysics Analysis Program) to satisfy this purpose in the shipbuilding area. Furthermore, it can be applied to offshore installation and operation such as topside module erection and semi-submersible drilling rig. For this, this study proposed multiphysics simulation framework. The multi-physics framework consists of four layers. The first layer is a core dynamics module which is based on flexible multibody system dynamics with the discrete variational principle and the implicit integration method. The second layer is an interface module for exchanging data between the core dynamics module and multi-physics components conveniently. The third layer is multi-physics components which are required for advanced simulation, including hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, pneumatics, hydraulics, wire rope dynamics, collision mechanics, hardware control, and so on. The final layer is a service module for making simulation scenarios, reporting and visualizing simulation results, and so on. In this paper, we present the applications of SyMAP such as block lifting, transporting, erection and drilling rig operation considering flexible risers. |
