Abstract The simulation is being widely used to asses the safety and applicability of various offshore works. For this, some technologies can be considered to implement a simulator for offshore applications such as installation, operation, and maintenance. For more realistic simulation, an integrated simulation interface is proposed in this study by incorporating three different kinds of technologies; multiphysics analysis, virtual reality, and hardware. The proposed interface consists of an analysis module, a visualization module, a motion platform module, a network module, and so on. Using the proposed interface, we can synchronize the simulation time and exchange data on the network through the middleware with a standardized data structure. To verify the efficiency and applicability of the proposed interface, it is applied to various simulations for offshore works. As a result, we can see that the proposed interface can be used to perform the realistic simulation for various offshore works in less time and effort.
