Abstract
Wire rope consists of several metal wires laid together like a helix, and it can resist relatively large axial loads in comparison to bending and torsional loads. Shipbuilding cranes such as floating crane, goliath crane and crawler crane raise the ships and offshore blocks by using wire rope. In this study, the dynamic property of wire rope is researched and applied to a dynamics simulation of the shipbuilding erection cranes for the ship and offshore block erection process to be conducted safely.
