Abstract
Recently, shipyards are making every effort to efficiently manage blocks and to minimize distribution costs of them. However, so far the block transportation scheduling of transporters has been manually performed by a designer of the shipyards. Thus, to improve this process, a block transportation scheduling system of transporters using optimization techniques is developed in this study. First, a block transportation scheduling problem is formulated as an optimization problem. Then, optimization algorithms to solve it are proposed and implemented. To evaluate the efficiency and applicability of the developed system, it is applied to block transportation scheduling problems of a shipyard. The result shows that blocks can be efficiently moved by transporters using the developed system.
